Friday, Jul. 01, 2005 6:45 P.M. Ho-hum-humidity Howdy! I'm still busy, but I got tagged by Boxx So like a good little do-bee, I had to comply. I've been tagged so I now have to list 5 things that society in general apparently enjoys or tolerates but that I just don't get. 1. Bottled water. Ok, maybe your water is so rancid or full of chemicals/pollution/nasty taste that you can't stand it, but if not, why? Water is free folks! In case you haven't noticed, there is a silver (usually) thing on your sink that turns. When it is turned, water pours out. Free. Fill that little plastic bottle, toss it in the freezer for 15 minutes and then take it with you wherever you go. You too can look like the cool kids - for nothing! 2. Rap Music. I don't get it. Where is the melody? Where is the harmony? Where are the freakin earplugs? Because Lord knows, you can't listen to it by yourself. Oh no! You have to share it with everyone within a 50 foot radius! Sort of like audio head lice. 3. Humis. That's stuff is just plain nasty! C'mon! I wouldn't feed that to an enemy. 4. Thunderstorms. Hate them with a strong passion. They terrify me. 5. The guy on the HP Printer commercial. Do you know the one I mean? He holds a picture frame up to his face and the frame turns into a picture of himself. Then he moves his hand away taking the picture with him. Next he puts a picture frame down over his head and when he takes it back off, again it is a picture of himself. This guy creeps me right the hell out. He does it with about 10 different frames. He scares me. Ok, I have to tag 5 people now. If you dont want to do it or if you already have, move along. Summer-gale It's been another hot steamy humid week. I am thinking of moving to Alaska. It isn't even August yet. I got a book in the mail yesterday (thanks Art!. It's a Reader's Digest Condensed Book. Summer 1953, 1st Edition. How cool is that?? I was born in June,'53. Ok, I was born on the 17th so I am actually the Spring Edition, but hey, close enough. We have been going mad over recording DVDs. Well, I should say Terry has. I have been going mad over making case covers for them. And buying them. We are building a library of movies. Now that I finished my obligation at Columbia House, I am a "Preferred" customer. That means they would prefer I give them more money. Not really. It means that no longer do I get any more of those stupid cards that have to be mailed back. I only have to buy one CD at any price every 5 months. But the great part is that if I buy one at the regular price, I get all the ones I want at 60% off. Last night I checked out the ones that were already marked down. I bought three movies for $2.98 each. And since I am a "Preferred" member, any DVDs I buy from here on in are only $.99 for shipping. I ended up with Beetlejuice, Weekend at Bernie's, See Jane Run, Get Smart Again, Davids Mother and Dancing in the Dark. They werent all the same price and I had to pay the regular price for one, but the average price for the 6 of them was $6.46 each. Better than yard sale prices and they are new! The ones Terry are burning are a little better price at about $1.50 for the ink and .20 for the case, Plus $3.00 to rent it. Thats about $4.70 each. The quality isnt quite as good, but they are fine. I am building a library, I tell ya. Im going to have to brush up on my Dewy Decimal System to file them all. Well, have to fun. I need to get some serious TV time in and early bedtime. This heat is draining my energy something fierce. Later, From no news to much news - zing! - 7:31 P.M. , Friday, Mar. 07, 2008
