Thursday, Oct. 02, 2003 7:17 A.M. You want to see my what???? My surgery is now scheduled. It was tentative for October 14 and now it is a definate. I went yesterday for "THE TEST". It is possibly one of the most embarrasing trips to a doctor's office I have ever made. The test was painless, but very unerving. Ever notice how some people (And boy, am I one of them) start babbling when they get nervous? Man, can I babble. I told the nurse that I was a tad uptight about being there. As I lay on my back with my feet in a position usually reserved for more enjoyable times, I started the babble. Me: "I hate these visits." Nurse: "I know, honey, everyone hates them." Me: Oh, it isn't so much what he's doing that bothers me." Nures: "What is it then?" Me: "Because after all this, I just know, He won't write, he won't call......" He had to insert a catheter and fill the bladder with water. Then he told me to cough. You guys? I can now relate to how rediculous you feel during your exam now. It was surreal. Then he was pretty much done with the test. He stood there looking at my body, still in the stirrups and announced: Yes, I can fix this." Me: "Ya know doctor, if any other man were to stand in that position and utter those words, I would find it really, really insulting." He laughed at me and told me the process they will perform in surgery. I had already read up on it, so I didn't have many questions. The just put in a sling and bolt it to the pelvic bone in four places. Sounds funky. I need to find out if they are metal bolts. I would hate to set off alarms anywhere and have to stand there and explain why. I got my appointment for my lab tests and follow up visit and was on my way. So as of October 14th folks, I shall have a gladder bladder. Terry has already come up with a new nickname for me. I shall be known as Frankenbug. How cute. (Now go lay down by your dish.)
