Monday, May. 26, 2003 7:34 A.M. Happy Memorial Day I am alive and feeling pretty much back to normal. Thank you all for worrying. And for you others (and you know who you are) I have taken steps to make sure I am not cyber-contagious. Really, I am much better now. Of course the constant-freaking-rain of the past week isn't helping my emotional well-being any. I want some sunshine!!! Harry's wife got an e-mail from someone high up and in the know. It was just a pretty much a generic blah, blah, blah e-mail, thanking all the families for their supprot of the troops. It told them how even though the fighting has subsided quite a bit, that the troops are instrumental in assuring peace and re-organization of Iraq now. It tells us that they will probably be there for some time, but that we are to be proud of their participation. In other words, to sum it all up, he is there, he is ok, don't know when he will be home. Later. End of story. I will still feel better when someone gets a personal letter from HIM! Today I remember: my Mother, who I miss every Day My Grandparents, who were so wonderful All the soldiers who fought and died to keep my little corner of the world a safe place for myself and my family. All the teachers that helped shape me, gave my faith and taught me to believe in myself All the deceased astronaughts that helped me see a universe more vast than the imagination Lucille Ball, for teaching me humor Jimmy Stewart who taught me that no matter how big you get, to remain humble Irma Bombeck who taught me to remain optomistic Martin Luther King Jr. who taught me to look outside the box Mother Teresa who taught me contentment through sacrifice and empathy And Judy Garland who taught me that to find true happiness, one only needs to look in their own back yard.
